Our aim is to improve the services provided at Caterham Dene Hospital by supplying: new equipment to enable quicker diagnosis and treatment, improved patient amenities, and better facilities for hospital staff so that they can focus on patient needs.
We regularly meet with the management of the hospital to understand what assistance they need to help improve the hospital and we also provide a means of feedback from the local community.
Friends of Caterham Dene Hospital is entirely funded from donations from our members and local organisations, fund raising events, legacies and our shop in the hospital reception area. In the last fifteen years we have provided over £500,000 of equipment and improved amenities at the hospital.
Facilities at Caterham Dene Hospital have been greatly enhanced in recent years but there is an ongoing need to raise funds to extend these facilities even further. We are a group of forty volunteers with different roles within the group:
Trustees: who form the main committee and make decisions about the charity and how we prioritise and spend the funds we have raised.
Volunteers: who look after the shop, keeping it open and running.
Fundraisers: who organise and help at events.
Wardens: who deliver our newsletters twice a year.
Crafters: who make things to sell in our shop and at our events.
